INTERN EXPERIENCES
“Eden House gave me not only the skills and experiences of working for a non-profit , but also a much deeper understanding of the complexitiy of the issues surrounding human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. My two years at Eden House allowed me to build relationships with both the staff and the residents that have shaped the way I view these issues and has motivated me to continue to pursue work in the treatment and prevention of sexual abuse and exploitation. My experience was so impactful I continue to stay as involved with Eden House as possible.”
-Kate Shipley, Intern 2014-2016
“Interning at Eden House not only helped me make great connections with various professionals in the New Orleans community, but it also led me to an epiphany about what I want to do with my career in the future. At Eden House, no matter what intern position you fulfill, you will get a taste of what it’s like to be in social work, non-profit administration grant-writing, etc. I left Eden House with more compassion and a much better understanding of the surrounding world. Truly a summer well-spent.”
-Ravleen Kaur, Summer Intern 2016
“The time that I spent working at Eden House with the staff and the residents has laid the foundation for my career interests, incited within me a passion for women’s advocacy, and allowed me to build meaningful relationships with women I may not have otherwise connected with. To see the transformation in the women of Eden House as they engage in their recovery is one of the most beautiful things that I have ever witnessed. I hope to forever remain connected with Eden House. I will carry with me the compassion, selflessness, humility, and love that I found there with me for the rest of my life and for that I am truly grateful.”
-Abby Mowen, Intern 2015-2016
